REPRESENTATION OF DISABILITY AND ABILITIES
Film studies hw - A representation of ability and disability:
This is a representation of ability and disability from the film wonder a boy that isn’t the same as everyone else yet much smarter than the rest.At the beginning you see a young boy who’s never been to school who covers himself up because he’s ashamed and embarrassed of the person he is but he’s always wanted to be like everyone else look the same and just fit in this picture I’m about to insert is where you get a real feel for him the way he looks, dresses, the props he uses, the things he’s best at and the things he struggles with you can find most of that just in one photo because he’s different and different people are noticed.
For me you can tell a lot in his eyes they glow but with almost a sad look from the darkness in his eyes but his smile is soft with a feeling of hope but he’s still normal even having disabilities and looking different he’s clever and just like all of us. I think what represents him as having a disability is the little things like the long braid from his hair which is almost a token he has created that matches him and makes him, him but because its so different people think of him as different and think its away of taking the mock out of him but deep down he’s like everyone else.
No matter a disability or abilities people are just like all of us just with some more differences and not quite up to normality but that shouldn’t change anything but they are things that make peoples opinions differently over many things that could be wrong with people but its just a case of realizing people can be represented in many ways and that’s okay.
